At Aligned Living Studios we believe in balance of body, mind and spirit. We offer the following modalities in combination with thoughtfully chosen self-care products and practices to make healthful choices accessible to our community and clientele.
Yoga & Pilates
Both Pilates and yoga offer stress-relief, flexibility, strength, control, and endurance. The Pilates Method focuses on muscle toning, body control, and flexibility, with the main emphasis being core strength. Pilates is a disciplined practice with a focus on precision. Yoga is an ancient body of knowledge with the physical component being the most widely familiar. We believe that practicing both – separately – is key to maintaining an aligned body. We offer expert instruction and separate practice areas for both.
When it comes to stress reduction, nothing compares to relaxing, letting go, and receiving conscious, loving, intentional touch from a skilled massage therapist. The benefits of massage vary from improvements in sleep quality and immune system function to better sports performance. Tissue manipulation by a skilled massage therapist can reduce chronic pain and increase mobility in the body. We currently offer expert, traditional massage therapy and are working to expand our body-work category into additional modalities.
Meditation & Mindfulness
You’ve probably heard the term “Mindfulness” in context with stress-reduction, but what does it mean? The short answer is, “To be in the present moment.” Mindfulness practices take us out of the stresses of the everyday and ask us to go within. Meditation, whether guided or mantra based encourages the mind into a state of non-judgement of our surroundings, sensations in the body and our ever passing thoughts. We currently offer guided meditations and will soon be offering The Chopra Center’s Primordial Sound Meditation.
